Why did we start this program?
We started Thuthukani in response to two important paradigm shifts which have drastically changed the lives of WK students in the past year;
Global Social Movements
Global social movements such as #BlackLivesMatter and the #MeToo movement have focused our attention on the profound systemic challenges our generations face.
The Emergence of COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the way the world works. From border closures and lagging vaccination efforts in developing countries to remote working and learning, we want to support students navigate this brave new world where technology is more important than ever.
We believe that WK students should be prepared for the changing world they inhabit and the world they’ll enter when they pursue higher education.
Our vision is to connect.
We connect the vibrant and supportive Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA alumni network with the next generation of changemakers. We’re dedicated to focusing on the personal and professional growth of the Waterford Kamhlaba student community.
We help students develop personally and professionally
by leveraging the experiences, passions and knowledge of its globally located, and supportive WK UWCSA alumni network. Whether you’re a current student or a recent graduate, we’re here to serve you.
